Convertible laptops continue To increase the popularity, probably because of the exceptional flexibility they offer to people who want to switch their use-displacement of the series among traditional shapes of notebooks, tablets and leisure devices. The latest device for entering this crash is HP’s Omnibook X Flip, available in both 16-inch and 14-inch versions, the last of which is what I was sent for review.
However, his bad battery life and the uncomfortable design make him not among the best 2-in-1 laptops I’ve tested, even if the price is quite attractive.

At first glance, it is an inconspicuous device, fully dressed in silver aluminum, interrupted only by a low branding of HP on the lid. But look more closely and you will soon see some design elements that can raise the eyebrow.
Starts, strange as it may be, with the underside of the laptop, which looks like a corner pedestal on which the keyboard rests. It also makes the laptop look thicker than it is, although at 19 mm (0.75 inches) thick, it is actually about average for the 14-inch category. (However, the weight of 3.1 pounds is relatively heavy and feels like such in the hand.)
The other big twist is the keyboard. Instead of presenting the island -style keys today, ubiquitous today, Omnibook X Flip has its keys, they all work together, only with a spread between each of them. This makes each key only a little larger than normal, and while it sounds useful, I found that it creates a slightly more difficult touch experience, as I accidentally hit two keys at a time more than expected. It also seems strangely strange, a sure love-or Omi retro look that clearly reminded me of some computers from the 80’s.

HP Swaps Intel for AMD on the 14-inch Omnibook X Flip (although the 16-inch model uses Intel CPU) and the review model is one of the available configurations of higher class, including AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with AMD Radeon 860m.
