For most of my adult life, I was a full-time fitness professional.
But I have recognition to do.
Fitness can feel like a boring job.
That’s right, even « professionals » do not always feel motivated. And neither my clients.
This is normal. No one feels motivated all the time.
Fitness is something like Flossing. You don’t always love him, but you know it’s important.
So what do you do when everything just feels like another item on your « tasks » list?
First, give yourself permission to feel this way.
You don’t have to be someone who « falls in love » with a suitability to make it important. Even if you never expect it completely, a A little consistent effort still pay offS
Second, when possible, it it It is worth trying to bring more joy to the process.
At best, fitness is not the ultimate goal. This is the amplifier for everything else you love.
If fitness feels like a job for you right now, here are some ways to mix things:
Name your workouts after your favorite hobbies or interests. (If you love Star Wars you don’t work, you do Jedi Training.)
You can try a workout specially built around something you like or even one that levels after battles for bossS
And it doesn’t just go for training!
There are also tons of themed cookbooks to inspire and bring some fun to your dishes.
My son (11) brought Minecraft a cookbook home from school last week and decided he wanted to make Minecraft Steak. It was literally just steak with salt and pepper on it, but it was so excited and invested in fixing the eating Juuuuust properly.
You can even add a little taste to how you are Follow your progressS
Lower row: Whatever you love, whether it’s Gandalf, gardening or golf – see if you can bring a little bit into the mixture.
For most of us, fitness is not about being « the best fitness. » (Although if you are competing in 5K tracks or Powerlifting events is what you love is great!)
It’s about having energy and health to show up in the things that illuminate you. For example, one of my customers, Julie, really hated strength training. She knew it was important for the retention of the muscles and bone health and everyone else. But it wasn’t until we were unable to bind specific movements in our training back to her passion, archery, that the part of the work of work was easier.
I still remember how she ignited after returning from a bow session and said something in the order of, « The bow just felt so easy to pull! » (People from archery don’t come to me if I let it go. 😅)
Lower row: The relationship between your fitness goals and all the other cool things you like to do is a mom code.
Movement should not always be serious.
Try adding a few more games and mini-shacks to your session to season things!
Finish your heating with Drop -challengeS
Between the exercises, add low -intensity movements such as juggling or balance, etc., to challenge your brain, even as your body recovers.
Roll out the D20 to determine what your condition will look like at the end of your session.
At Camp Nerd Fitness, my Ninja class was full of small games and challenges like these, and people left smiling and sweaty. I remember more specially a camper, Emily, who approached me and gave me a big hug afterwards because this approach made the fitness feel fun and accessible in a whole new way.
Lower row: where possible, touch the playful side of the movement.
Sometimes, despite all this, fitness will still feel like grinding.
That’s good.
Do not overdo it in these seasons. Focus on the basics: a A little key movementsHe eats a little protein, moving a little every day.
Action matters more than perfection.

Some of these ideas will click, some are gone, and that’s the question. There is no size here that meets all the recipe for everyone.
My hope for you is that you can find ways to get the fitness to feel a supplement to your life without taking it.
So let me ask you:
What would you bring More joy In your fitness right now?
Hit the answer and let me know – I would love to hear it.
