Week 7 features one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries as the Washington Commanders (3–3) host the Dallas Cowboys (2–3–1) at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.
Both sides are eager to bounce back from narrow losses and reignite their playoff aspirations in the hotly contested NFC East.
For Washington, this game comes with added pressure. A 25-24 heartbreaker against the Chicago Bears last week left the Commanders frustrated after surrendering a late lead on a field goal.
Dallas suffered a similar gut punch in Week 6, losing 30-27 to the Carolina Panthers in a last-second blowout. Despite Dak Prescott’s strong outing and a productive day from the offense, defensive lapses proved costly — a recurring theme for a Cowboys team allowing more than 30 points per game.
With both teams at a crossroads, Sunday’s matchup feels like a statement game. Washington is looking to prove it can compete with the NFC’s elite under pressure, while Dallas is determined to turn potential into results before the season slips away.
The Cowboys are still battling injuries at several key positions. Star CeeDee Lamb (ankle) is trending toward a return, while KaVontae Turpin (foot), Ajani Cornelius (knee) and Jack Sanborn (concussion protocol) remain questionable. Defensive end Marshawn Kneeland has an ankle problem and Jonathan Mingo remains on injured reserve.
The Commanders’ offense has been quietly efficient, averaging 26.3 points per game, but the injuries are starting to pile up. Terry McLaurin (hamstring) has now missed three straight games and there is no guarantee he will return this weekend. Linebacker Eddie Goldman (illness) and wide receiver Dorrance Armstrong (hamstring) are questionable, while wideout Noah Brown (groin) is also questionable.
