Watch all the goals and read our coverage as Germany continue their World Cup preparations in Stuttgart
Denis Undav’s goal was scored in the 89th minute Germany a deserved 2-1 win Ghana in an international friendly on Monday night.
The hosts looked to be heading for an upset in Stuttgart when Abdul Fatawu’s late strike canceled out Kai Havertz’s first-half penalty after missing several good chances to extend their lead.
But Stuttgart striker Undav became a hero in front of his own crowd when he came out and brilliantly scored a winner to boost his hopes of making it to Germany World Cup 2026 team in what was his first appearance in Germany in over a year.
The win sees them extend their winning start to 2026 after beating Switzerland 4-3 last week ahead of what they hope will be a successful World Cup campaign this summer.

Germany dominated the early stages in Stuttgart but failed to muster a clear cut chance to make the breakthrough.
Florian Wirtz hit the post from a free-kick, while Kai Havertz and Nick Voltemade went close as the hosts created a flurry of chances.
Joshua Kimmich, drifting in from right-back, controlled the tempo and kept Germany on the front foot, although Serge Gnabry fired wide from distance.
A goalmouth scramble from Kimmich’s free-kick saw Jonathan Tah’s effort deflected away before Wirz slotted the ball into the net with a precise finish, but the referee flagged for an offside by Voltemade, another miss for Ghana.
The hosts finally went ahead just before the half-time break from the penalty spot after Jonas Adjetei was adjudged to have taken the ball from Angelo Stiller.
Havertz was the man to step up and the Arsenal man rolled the ball into the net to put Germany ahead and grab his 21st international goal.
Antoine Semenho finally got his chance to shine early in the second half as the Manchester City star skipped past Rudiger brilliantly before teeing up Enoch Kofi Adu, whose shot was blocked.
Voltemade was the next to go close as the Newcastle forward hit the crossbar with a header and Denis Undav was unable to clear the rebound.
Lennart Karl got his chance to shine off the bench and the 18-year-old showed everyone why he is so highly rated with some brilliant moments in his second game.
The teenager dispossessed Jordan Ayew and skipped past several Ghanaian defenders before eventually being brought down on the edge of the box after a great break forward.
But Germany were punished for all their missed chances in the 20th minute of play when Fatawu scored from Derrick Cohn’s cross after a powerful break down the left as the scores were surprisingly level.
Karl squandered his big moment to score the winning goal after a loose pass from club-mate Leon Goretzka saw him only manage to curl a shot wide of goal.
But in truth, the big moment was actually reserved for Undav in front of his hometown crowd in Stuttgart – the former Brighton striker stretched to reach Leroy Sane’s header to slot home clinically.
