In January, car sales increased by 6.6 percent from the previous year, according to the Automobile Association (FADA). The information is according to FADA’s previous forecasts from moderately positive in January, it said.
The strong start was obvious in all categories of vehicles, including two -wheelers, tricycles, passenger cars, tractors and commercial vehicles. Sales of two -wheelers increased by 4.15% from the previous year and significant 27.39% monthly. In December, the city market expanded its share from 41.6 % to 43.7 % in January. New model launch, demand for marriage and improved financing options were the most important growth controls, Fada said. However, worries about interest rates and rural liquidity challenges continue.
Sales of passenger vehicles were also significant growth and increased by 15.53% from the previous year and 58.77% monthly, partly due to the purchase of December registered in January. The market share of urban areas had risen, but rural areas increased a higher year of the previous year. The dealers liked this for the improved demand and for last year’s discount strategies that helped to transfer registrations.
Sales of commercial vehicles increased by 8.22% from the previous year and increased by 38.04 per month as the city market exceeded rural growth. Higher freight prices and passengers’ demand affected this result, although low cash flow and strict financial policy poses challenges, especially in slow areas such as cement and carbon.
Stock levels have improved, falling from 50 to 55 days, indicating better supply of demand.
As February approaches, the industry maintains careful optimism. According to a recent study, 46 % of retailers anticipate growth, while 43 % expect sales to remain steady and 11 % anticipate the decline.
Positive factors such as the ongoing marriage season, new products launch and strategic campaigns are expected to maintain customer processing. Nevertheless, there are still challenges, including shorter working days, poor rural liquidity, inflation pressure and strict quotation criteria.
FADA President CS Vigneshwar said, “Even so, India’s automatic retail is ready for modest profits if these headwinds make it easier. While almost half of the retailers are still waiting for a rise, there is a collective feeling of optimism, suggesting that industry is ready to pursue the recent challenges and look forward to brighter days. “
