An American Airlines jet was found Monday with possible bullet holes in its exterior after it completed its flight Medellin, ColombiaTo Miami.
The damage was discovered during a routine post-flight inspection of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 at Miami International Airport.
By Airlive.netthe puncture marks resembled bullet holes and were found on the plane’s right wing assembly.
American Airlines confirmed to FOX Business that the plane was hit and is currently being inspected.

« After a routine inspection, our teams discovered a leak outside one of our aircraft in Medellín, Colombia, » the airline said.

Machine registered as N342SX, first left Miami Sunday on flight AA923 to Medellin’s José María Córdova International Airport, where it stayed overnight in Colombia. AirNavRadar.
The next morning, it completed its return journey on flight AA924, landing in Miami at approximately 10:33 AM.
The flight proceeded without incident during its three-hour journey across the Caribbean, and no one was reported injured, the airline told FOX Business.
During the inspection, maintenance personnel found puncture marks on the right aileron, the part of the wing that controls the aircraft’s turn, Airlive.net reported.

Although the cause of the possible shooting is still under investigation, the incident has raised concerns about the safety of Medellín. The city, now a popular and bustling tourist destination, was once notorious for high levels of violence and drug crime in the 1990s.
After the discovery, flight technicians at the Miami airport made temporary structural repairs to stabilize the wing. Airlive.net quoth.

At 20:00, about 10 hours after landing in Miami, the plane took off again on a non-commercial flight American AirlinesPrimary service center at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
The plane currently remains grounded at DFW, where specialized engineers can evaluate the jet and determine if other mechanisms have targeted it.
