Ruben Amorim was extremely disappointed of Manchester United exciting 4-4 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The Red Devils took the lead three times in a dramatic game at Old Trafford in which they dominated much of the game with 24 shots and 9 on target.
Mateusz Cunha thought he had scored the winner late on, but a late goal from Eli Crupi Jnr saw the Cherries hit back and take a share of the spoils – extending United’s home winless streak to three games.
The Red Devils boss said BBC Sport: « It’s really disappointing. We’re really disappointed. Crazy game. It might look like we lost the two points in the second half, but I think we lost them in the first half.
« We dominated and created so many chances. We should have gone into half-time with a different score.
« In the end we deserved more. It was a fun game for everyone at home. »
« People especially at Old Trafford want to win but they want to be inspired to see a team play good football. We did well at times.
« It was a good performance but we have to be more specific because we created so many chances. »
« Lamens did really well. There were chances for both sides. We created more. We have to find ways to finish games because it happened a lot of times.
« It’s part of the process. We try to do the best we can, but sometimes it’s not enough. »
Opposing manager Andoni Iraola struggled to make sense of such an entertaining affair and said the thriller was the result of two sides focusing on attack rather than defence.
He told BBC Sport: “It’s very difficult to explain because so much has happened.
« I guess it was fun for everybody. Two teams that attacked a lot better than we defended. We played pretty open, both teams.
« Everything happened even in stoppage time. Very positive. »
Iraola added that he thought the handball decision that led to Fernandez’s free-kick making it 3-3 with just over 10 minutes to play was an error on the referee’s part.
« I think it’s a clear foul. Over the bar. It’s not a foul, » he said.
« We struggled in the first 15-20 minutes. We made some adjustments but we were losing 1-0. From there I was quite happy with the game.
« The last two were huge chances, great saves from Lammens. We take a point. We can use a lot of good things from today, but things we need to correct. »
