Nwaneri made his debut for Marseille

Marseille did arch-rivals Paris Saint-Germain a big favor by dispatching Lance 3-1 to maintain PSG’s place at the top of Ligue 1.

PSG leapfrogged surprise pack Lens with a 1-0 win in Auxerre on Friday, and the unlikely title contenders were well beaten at the Stade Velodrome as they failed to respond.

Guiry’s second goal made the game safe before Ryan Fofana grabbed a late consolation for Lance, who are now two points behind PSG.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1, Monaco drew 0-0 at Le Havre, Lorient moved above the Principality club into the top flight with a 2-0 win over Brittany neighbors Rennes.
