‘Bengaluru Another Gurrugram’: Biocon Chief Slams Infra Decay, invites ‘Killing the Golden Goose’

Biocon’s executive chairman Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has been charged with Bengaluru’s crumbling infrastructure, which compares the city’s plight to Gurrugram for a long time due to administrative errors and neglect of citizens. « This is the fate of every rich city. Bengaluru is another gurrugram, » Shaw wrote. « The state is tailoring and killing the golden goose without the responsibility of providing basic infrastructure and civic forms – building rules have been filled to earn money, etc. »

His remarks were triggered by a broader debate on India’s city readiness, where he posted a message that questioned whether cities to withstand growing pressure from migration. « Intelligent villages are needed with smart cities, » the original message said.
