« It gives me a little lever, » he explained. « Show them that I am interested in and that I am ready to do it and want to go out here and participate and show my teammates that I am ready to be here and compete with them guys. »
Cook acknowledged that the desire to receive an extension of the contract provided additional motivation to continue to upgrade the Pro-to-Back seasons.
« We have conversations. I will never give up, » he said confidently. « I want to say, I deserve what I want, (from what) and in the end it will happen. »
Cook said his teammates have their backs in these negotiations. They were « very supportive » during this process.
« I’m not really talking to them about such things, but I just like not to want to present it to the team and be a distraction, » Cook explained. « So, I just stay on myself and just leave my agents and these guys do things. »
In the end, he said something to some extent about Bils fans.
« I mean, however, it happens, it will be done where it happens, » Cook explained.
« When James entered for the mandatory camp we talked » General Manager Brandon Bean told reporters yesterdayS « We have always had a good relationship. As I said all the time-I love James Cook … I want to prepare, develop, (s) I sign ours again. »
As good as it may sound, there are solutions that Bean and bills have to make to ensure that they can sign Cook and still have enough money to add other players during the season and the next off season.
« This is a business. We have to install it not only in cash but also a hat, » Bean explained. « We also have to look at ’26, ’27 and beyond, because you can enter one of those years where you are like: » Oh, man, there are not many guys we can take down. “We will have to trade or cut someone we wouldn’t want to lose.
The good news is that Brandon Bean will be transparent to players in the list of accounts on negotiations for a contract.
« I think everyone knows I will have an open dialogue with the players, » he said. « That’s what I’m. And we’ll let the business take care of yourself. »
It sounds like James Cook anyway wants to continue his career at NFL with Buffalo Bills. He said the « defender and fans » are two of the biggest reasons why he wants to stay in Buffalo.
« This is a great organization, » Cook said. « They made me for a reason, I feel. I’m ready to be here and spend the rest of my career here. »
