Charity Gambleaware UK to close the following government legislation

Gambleaware will be closed in gradual closure after the introduction of a new gambling legislation in the UK.

The charity has been working since 2002, working to raise awareness of gambling -related damage and to provide significant support for those in need.

The organization has confirmed the end of its term in an official statement, which will see it successfully with the appointment of three new commissioners, as well as the introduction of a new legal tax to finance their work.

Commissioners will have the task of working and developing measures to study gambling, prevention and treatment.

All this comes after the long -awaited gambling policy was presented in May.

In its statement, the authority said that « the work historically delivered by Gambleaware will already move to the United Kingdom Government and the New Commissioners in England, Scotland and Wales », with the closure of the charity being expected by March next year.

Previously, Gambleaware advocates for the delivery of a legal system to replace his job, so in this respect his work is done.

However, the organization swore to continue in order to fulfill existing commitments until the new system is introduced.

Boucher calls for the government to ensure that the learning is being transmitted forward

Gambleaware chairman Andy Boucher outlined the important work and achievements of the charity, culminating in the creation of a legal initiative led by public health to deal with the harm associated with gambling.

« We welcome this new era, in which the gambling damage is recognized together with other public health problems and are funded through a legitimate tax, » Boucher said.

He continued: « When we enter the last phase of our work in operation, we call on NHS England, the service for improving the health and differences, research and innovation of the United Kingdom and the relevant authorities in Scotland and Wales to upgrade the achievements and insights of the present system to ensure that they are being held. »

Gambling Minister Baroness Twycross also acknowledged the impact made by Gambleaware and emphasized the importance of their long -term activity until the end of the transitional period.
