D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop Experience Sigil is now available for a computer

Thehe Dungeons & Dragons The right has another option for times when the physical desk is not feasible. Sigil wizards on the shore is a 3D virtual desktop set (VTT), which occupies some elements of video games without deviating too far from the joy of sitting around a table with cohorts with unanimity. It starts publicly this week and is now available for everyone to try.

If you have no idea what 3D VTT is, imagine a graphic recreation of all the distinctive features of D&D desktop: virtual versions of a game board, miniatures, dice, symbol sheets, etc. This is not a complete video game like Baldur Gate Because the characters are still static mines that are moving as if they were physical pieces. But it adds digital touches as animated effects of spells and lighting. If done well, it’s like a recreation of the best D&D gears (with some extra sense) that you can use to play with anyone in the world.

Sigil (named after a city in D&D Lore) is not the first of its kind. Bouncyrock Entertainment’s Talespire is a popular 3D VTT, which is currently in early access for PC and MAC. And his business model will be preferable to many: everyone pays $ 25 as a one -time purchase. Although Sigil is free to deal with and join the games of others, you will need D&D beyond the main level subscription ($ 6 a month or $ 55 a year) to host multiplayer games and unlock additional extras such as builders and customized mini and custom options.

Where Sigil has an advantage is her integration with the characters of D&D Beyond. So, if you have already built your characters, equipment and capabilities with the official D&D Digital Companion service, you have to have an easy transition (at least in theory).

Sigil provides a library of assets, brushes and lighting effects to play and customize your cards and mines in your heart content. « These personalized tools allow you to revive your world, whether you are exploring fantastic landscapes, rising fortresses or dangerous dungeons, » says the company on its field.

It also includes touches on the hob as virtual dice that breaks up realistically through the game board. You can customize your miniatures of different scales, sizes and appearances. « All our assets are created in a way that is like actually buying a high-end mini or digit, » said the company in its video for introduction in 2024. « We wanted them to feel somehow painted, but somehow realistic-trying to capture this beautiful between them, where art, figures and games gather. »

Sigil works at Unreal Engine 5 and you will need at least a decent powerful playing computer to participate. Although its minimum system requirements are less discouraging, D&D is beyond at least the NVIDIA RTX 2080, AMD R9 380 or Intel UHD on the GPU front, along with 16GB RAM. So far, it’s just windows, but the company wants to eventually work on consoles, mobile and maybe even your refrigerator. (Game of refrigerator, someone?)

If this sounds like your adventure, you can sign up with your D&D Beyond Account on the product page. (For a more well -established alternative, you can also give the highly appreciated Thalass.) For a better feeling of sigil, see Wizards of the Coast Intro Video from D&D Direct 2024:
