Flick welcomes the « incredible mentality » of Barcelona players after winning Osasuna

Hansi Flick praised his players’ mentality as Barcelona leaked 3-0 winners in his rearranged game with Osasun to move three points from Real Madrid rivals to La Liga.

Ferran Torres, Danny Olmo, and a substitute Robert Lewandowski found the net when Barca appeared comfortable winners in a game that was postponed just minutes before it started on March 8 after the sudden death of Carles Mastro Garcia.

Flick, who complained about the matches this week – came just days after the end of the international vacation – and his potential impact on players’ well -being was intensified by the display of his side at the Lluis Company Olympic Stadium.

« I’ve said it before, I think the player’s mentality is incredible, » Flick said.

« I like to work with them and you can see it in any game. »

« They have fun, they like to play football with each other, and that’s great. »

The German manager also wanted to emphasize the contribution of his young midfielder Gavi, who impressed this season after returning from a prolonged spell on the ACL injury sidelines.

« He played a fantastic game, » Flick said. « It was not an easy year for him after the injury. He is always focused and professional.

« He is an exclusive player for this club. »

However, Flick’s complaints about players’ safety seem justified when Olmo is limping in the first half and may now be doubtful about the upcoming Barca Del Ray semi -final against Atletico and the quarter -finals of the Champions League with Dortmund.

And Flick doubled in his comments before the match, though he called the victory « a great moment ».

He added: « It was not the right day to play. We won, but we paid a high price for Danny Olmo’s injury. »
