LE CHAT to Mistral adds a deep research agent and voice regime to cause Openai Enterprise dominance

As Openai introduced deep research, AI agent that can Conducting consumer research and generating a comprehensive report, many other companies have released thEIR own versions of this ability, all called Deep Research.

Deep research as a function and product can be available through various platforms, including Gemini, Alphasense, You.com, Deepseek, Grok 3 and many more. Now the French company Mistral is joining the brawl with the launch of deep research capabilities in its Le Chat, among other updates to the platform.

In a blog publication, the company said that deep research and other new features will make Le Chat « even more capable, more intuitive and more inserted. »

Le Chat users can open a study mode and ask it something. The chatbot then asked questions to clarify some information and then began to collect sources. He will collect « structured, supported by reference reports that is easy to follow. »

Mistral said his research is powered by a deep research agent who designed to be « really useful » and feels like working with an organized research partner.

Deep research is called « the first AI in the mass market that can displace jobs », especially since it can issue reports more quickly than human analysts.

Mistral also updates the « thinking mode » where Le Chat users can access the company’s chain highway to read and respond in different languages. It can also encode a switch in the middle of the sentence.

Editing images based on prompts and other features

For people creating images in the chat app, they can ask the chatbot to edit parts of the photo only. Consumers can say something like « generating a cat drawing », then ask Le Chat to « put it in Istanbul » and that will do just that.

« It is ideal for making successive edits in a series, maintaining people, objects and design elements, recognizable from one image to another, » Mistral said.

Thanks to the recently released speech recognition model, Voxtral, Le Chat can now maintain voice mode where users can talk aloud with the platform. The company said this regime is best suited for recognizing speech with low latency and maintaining someone’s conversation.

The New project feature of Le Chat allows users to organize related conversations and topics in groups. Projects will use their own libraries – which can include uploaded files – and keep tools and preferred settings. This is similar to Google’s Notebooklm.

Many of the new features in Le Chat may look familiar. It is normal for other chat platforms to introduce such features, especially when people begin to expect these capabilities when using chat systems.

For example, both Gemini and Chatgpt allow users to edit generated photos using prompted. Sometimes chatbots mistakenly understand and process the whole image. However, I recently generated and edited a photo with Chatgpt, and the chatbot removed exactly what I wanted.

The voice mode has been available in Chatgpt since September 2024, although Chatgpt has always included the « Read Aloud » feature. Google’s Project Astra brought a voice mode to a new level, demonstrating in a demonstration that users could point something in the physical world of twins and ask him to describe him aloud.

Mistral, however, has the advantage of being based in Europe and can bring functions directly to the European market. Companies like Openai often struggle to provide certain services, such as the advanced ChatgPT voice regime in Europe due to data regulations and some provisions of the European Union Act.

However, users seemed excited that Mistral has introduced many new powerful features to Le Chat, with some early users seeing strong performance from a deep Mistral study.
