Brazil’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti says his country will learn a « good lesson » after refusing a 2-0 lead to lose against Japan at an international friend on Tuesday.
Selecao traveled thanks to goals by Paulo Anrique and Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal, before the second half collapsed, the hosts to win Tokyo.
Midfielder Casemiro described the result as « unacceptable » In what turned out to be disappointed, but the head coach uses a more changing approach to his estimate after the match.
He said: « We talked yesterday: This match was about a test and we will continue to test in November games.
« Our planning doesn’t change. It’s a good lesson tonight. There are things we need to learn from today’s game, especially in the second half.
« Individual mistakes do not affect the presence of players in the team. What we need to appreciate is the team’s reaction after the first mistake, which was not good. We lost a little balance in the game, in attitude, in positive thinking.
« While Fabricio Bruno’s mistake, the game was well under control.
« I am very clear about what happened, the team mentally collapsed after the first mistake. It was the biggest mistake of the team. The mistake affected them too much. »
Ancelotti will hope to see his country to learn his lesson before the World Cup next summer, where pressure will be on the whole nation after watching Argentina takes the scandalous trophy four years ago.
Brazil are already qualified for the US, Canada and Mexico tournament, but they will have to play a much better standard to have a chance to do it all the way.
