Manchester City asked about Jules Kadee, confirms Barcelona Deco Chief

The Barcelona Sports Director confirmed that Manchester City was interested in the full back of Jules Caude in the summer.

City still needed a long -term replacement for the departed Kyle Walker and asked Barca if France was available international Cowde.

Deco said to Mundo Deportivo: « There was no offer. The only thing I know was that the city was looking for a complete back and, of course, asked us if Koundé was on the market. And we told them no. So there is no offer or any negotiations. »

Deco explained that this was a routine conversation during the window, adding: « If I know a club sports director, I would call him and tell him that we are looking for a (player) in that position and if you think about selling.

« As we said from the beginning, the connection with the city with (former sports director) TXIKI (Begirist) and now with Hugo Viana, who is my friend, is good and direct without any mediation that is not required. »

Manchester City is still struggling to replace Walker

After being rejected by Barca, City failed to sign a specialized right back and worked with Matheus Nunes or Abdukodir Husanov in this role so far this season.

Kounde continued to sign a new five -year contract with Barcelona in August, following the likes of Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi and Pedri to perform his future at the club.

After signed, he said, « I’m very happy here, I feel comfortable in the team and I am very motivated by the ambition of the club.

« We fight for all the titles every year and I do not intend to leave. »

Kounde joined Barca from Sevilla in 2022 and in the last three years made a successful transition from the half -time to the right back.

He has won two titles in the league and He scored the winner as Barca won Copa del Rey by defeating Real Madrid in the final in April.
