« Delta Flight 1398 returned to Boston shortly after taking off after a smoky smell was discovered in the cabin, » the statement was read. « Our flight staff followed the established procedures and returned to Boston safely. We sincerely apologize for our customers for the delay in their journeys. »

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also published an opinion on the event.

« Delta Air Lines Flight 1398 returned safely to the Boston Logan International Airport at about 9:35 pm on Sunday, March 2, after the crew reported the steam in the cab and in the cabin, » the State Agency said. « Airbus 220 was on the way to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. FAA is investigating. Please contact the airline for more information. »
