Newcastle chief Eddie How has called on his players to use the last 10 Premier League games to upgrade their success in the Karabao Cup.
Magpies won their first home trophy for 70 years on Wembley before the international vacation, beating Liverpool of Wembley to raise a rare piece of silver.
And hundreds of thousands gathered for the mystes to join the parade and enjoy the celebrations that included the local characters Ant and DEC, as well as Alan Shearer.
But for How, the Major League returned attention and Newcastle’s desire to provide the Champions League football.
They face Brentford on Wednesday, a team that lost 4-2 earlier in the campaign.
In his press conference before the match, Newcastle’s chief coach admitted that the defeat was a catalyst for their season and talks about what he hoped in the last section.
He said: « It was a very difficult day, this one. It was a catalyst for us in terms of regrouping and changing the inertia of our season. We continued on a really good winning run after that.
Eddie How to build the success of the Karabao Cup:
« The pain of losing the final (in 2023), although it was a great disappointment, it fired us in the Premier League, so we used this pain. How we will react to success is a different feeling, but we need the result … pic.twitter.com/wgwzc07srf

« We had an in -depth analysis of this game. We know that Brentford is a good team and we played them on the way to the Karabao Cup final and that was another difficult game.
« Thomas (Frank) did a really good job there. They’re strong in set.
« It was a case of resetting and looking at our goals again differently. We have to put what happened against Liverpool in the back of our mind and now we are really focusing on the future.
« We enjoyed the vacation. We went to the finals of the Cup of Karabao, knowing that we have time to learn what happened in this game. Fortunately, it was positive.
“But now we’re ready to play again.
« We have 10 games and 10 great opportunities to try to turn our season into the Premier League into a memorable like the Cup finale. We look forward to it and I hope the boys are enlarged and renewed confidence. »
Newcastle sits sixth in the Premier League table, but they are only two points from the fourth -ranked Chelsea who face Tottenham on Thursday.
Victory can catapult them in the Champions League places, with the fifth expected to receive extra space in the race.
