Pep Guardiola has slammed Manchester City’s inability to hold on to a 2-0 lead after they lost 4-2 at Paris Saint-Germain tonight, leaving their Champions League hopes hanging in the balance.
City must now beat Club Brugge at the Etihad next week to have any chance of making the play-offs after a sober night in the French capital.
Goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland looked to have put City in control but PSG, who started the evening in danger themselves, pounced.
Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barkola equalized for PSG before late efforts from Joao Neves and Gonzalo Ramos completed a remarkable comeback.

Guardiola told TNT Sports: “The game was never what we wanted, but I give so much credit to PSG for that. They are an outstanding team. But at 2-0 if we could have managed it… but they scored straight after.
Then if we could have held the ball a bit and stayed like that it would have been better but we couldn’t do it.
« To defend the score, you have to hold the ball and we didn’t. They had it more, they attacked better and that’s why it was difficult.
« I accept defeat because the best team won.
Crashing out of the competition at this early stage would be a heavy blow for City in what has been a disappointing season, but Guardiola admitted it was now a possibility.
He added: “We have one last chance at home against Club Brugge. If we win, hopefully we can qualify.
« If we don’t win, we don’t deserve it. Sporting is difficult, PSG is difficult, Juventus is difficult, all the away games were difficult. This is the reality. We didn’t collect enough points. The last game against Club Brugge will dictate what we have to do.”
