I’m about to enter one of the most heated debates in the fitness world with you.

Does Calorie B, Calories work? Put two groups of people screaming at each other online.
Group 1: « It’s just! Just eat less calories than you burn! » Group 2: « It’s not about calories! It doesn’t work! »
So, what should we do from that?!
Here is the thing:
Both sides are somehow correct.
And also … they argue with each other in a way that I think is useless to everyone.
Let’s break it.
From a scientific point of view, we actually have evidence and studies in support of principle of calories in VS calories.
The Law of Thermodynamics is still applied to human bodies.
If we succeeded perfectly Measurement of calories consumed and burned calories, changes in weight will track.
This part is reliable and repetitive!
But …
They say:
They say method It doesn’t work for them.
Not physics.
So many people are stumbling.
Calories in / calories out = The principle
Calorie tracking = a method
You can affect the calories in/calories per equation Without watching a calorie at all.
You can also follow each bite and still feel stuck – because behavioral is off:
It’s not just about knowing numbers.
It’s about building habits and strategies that help these numbers change.
Weight loss is not magic. This is Math + a change in behavior.
All calories matter. And there are many environmental, physical and psychological factors that influence how much we eat and how much we move. I have always loved this infographic from precision nutrition, showing all the hidden factors that enter the calories, calorie equations.

So, what is the « right » strategy?
This is the one who helps you They affect this equation … Sustainable.
Some people like to track. Others hate him.
Some people do great with portion control or high protein content or reduction of take -off.
None of this violates the principle.
They are just different instruments For the same job.
For one person, tracking calories (method) can help them take into account their portions and choosing food throughout the day. They begin to plan forward for eating and this leads to a slight and steady calorie deficiency for them. They do not hit everything perfectly, but over time they begin to see progress. For another person, the calorie tracking can be completely turned! This makes them feel neurotic and obsessive to the numbers. It is really difficult to do even in the best scenarios, tracking calories at home is not an accurate science. After a few weeks, they do not see the progress and this makes the process feel unhappy and demoralizing, not empowering. Both situations are normal and expected. We all do not have the same bodies, the same environments or live in the same situation!
In fact, once you realize this, it’s like taking the red pill in the matrix. You can see the code everywhere and apply the same thought process to any diet or method there.

Keto. Paleo. Periodic fasting. For some people these methods create behavior is changing This leads to steady differences in calories, calories. For others, they don’t.
So if you have ever had a colleague, say, « I lost so much weight, I just do x! You have to try it! » And then you tried it and it doesn’t work for you – you’re not broken, it’s just not the right strategy for you at the time.
Let’s stop debting whether The principle works.
Instead, let’s start asking:
What is the best method for this individual to apply this principle in action without burning?
You don’t have to count every calorie.
You can Count calories if that helps.
And you can absolutely make progress by focusing on the habits and behavior that affect this equation in a sustainable way.
We have compiled our Own Tdee calculator – Which helps you encounter the daily calories you need based on the levels of your activity. Steve and I also compiled a guide At the 10th levels of feeding with a fitness well – These are practical skills that are focused on behavior primarily for those who feel overworked and are not sure where to start. Both are great tools in your fitness trip!
And if you want to help you find out what method fits your brain, your life and your goals, I’m just an answer.
