West Ham vs Brentford: Line-ups revealed as Hammers look to kick on under Nuno

« We have to get our fans back, » says Nuno

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo says the Hammers must « bring our fans back » after a sparse London Stadium booed them against Brentford.

Goals in each half by Igor Thiago and Matthias Jensen gave the Bees a win that could and should have been by a bigger margin.

Thiago had a second goal disallowed for offside as Brentford dominated and West Ham lost a fifth consecutive home game for the second time in their history.

Nuno said: « It was difficult. Not just for me. It was difficult for our fans, for our players, for everyone.

« For the first 15 minutes things were going and the team was organized and combined well. Then we lost our composure.

« Credit to Brentford, a physical team who put us in trouble. The goals, the corners and the timing of the game changed.

« Every day we learn. Every moment. We will not sleep.

« It’s a challenge for all of us. It’s up to us to change the momentum and get our fans back to support us. Win our individual duels. After four days we need a big improvement. »

The Hammers, 19th in the table with one win so far, face Leeds on Friday night.
