Tottenham confirmed that Defender Djed Spence has signed a new long -term contract with the club.
The 24 -year -old Spence joined the Middlesbrough Spurs in 2022, but endured a difficult start of life in North London, making only six appearances in his first season under Antonio Conte and spending time with Ren, Leeds United and Genoa.
He did not make his full debut in the Premier League for the club until December 2024 – more than two years after signing.
The right back, however, enjoyed a breakthrough in the second half of last season under Anger Pestekoglu, becoming a regular starter and playing a major role in the European Spurs Campaign.
His progress has already been rewarded with fresh conditions that emphasize his status as part of the club’s long -term plans.
Spence made 42 participations in all Tottenham competitions, scoring twice and the defeat of the UEFA Super Cup for the PSG and the victory on the starting day of the Spurs Supreme Day over Bernley.
The England Under-21 International will then be in operation when Postecoglou travels to the Manchester City champions on August 23 on August 23.
With the suitability of Destiny Udogie, a constant question about questions in Spurs, Spence takes advantage of his chance to strengthen and fill the void left by Italian.
Some fans of the Spurs even wonder if Spence should keep his starting place when he eventually returns.
