It was an easy training week because we went south for a wedding over the weekend, so I got a few weekends from the riding. I still have a few difficult days of riding with sprints and intervals, as well as two days of training on the upper body.
The wedding was the daughter of our friend, whom we have known and loved by a young child. The bride and groom bought a good size house with a very pleasant atmosphere in their backyard at Woodland Hills and from there the ceremony and reception took place. It was a beautiful ceremony, the first Jewish wedding I attended, and we were comfortable at the reception. The weekend was not quite perfect because of some trips to travel. Neither my wife nor I do too much, walking away from everyday activities, but this trip requires a lot. First, we had to park very far from the San Jose terminal, then it turned out that there was a long walk from the terminal to the place where you rent cars at the airport. Even if you are in a decent shape to do a lot of activity that you are not used to, it can lead to soreness and certain enough that I have tires with shin and my wife sore leg, but we are better after a few days.
On our way back we were a little behind the graphics, reaching the airport. It didn’t help that Google Maps went wrong: I looked for Bur, which he had to recognize as an airport code, instead took us to the train station near the airport. The recovery from this mistake, after which he needed a long walk from leaving the car to the terminal, meant that it would be tightly to go through security on time. But it turned out that our flight was slowed down anyway. A 10 -minute delay would be perfect, but in the end it was an hour. Then things went smoothly. In the background, all this was a minor problem, it was good to see Nicky’s wedding.
I returned to the easy cycling on Monday, then continued a long with my group up into the hills southwest of Morgan Hill. We had new riders who weren’t there before and it was nice to see their landscape reaction.
Next week I will try to get the upper body workouts up to 3 days instead of 2, as I well tolerated my 2 -day program. We’ll see how this works.
Or a sparkle in the big scheme of things.
