In case you have not heard, new Starbucks menu drinks are back for another year! Returning old favorite and new additions, the composition of the drinks this year includes familiar aromas of autumn such as Pumpkin and Pecan. Mixed with classic Starbucks suggestions such as Chai Lattes and Cold Brew, there are many selection options next time when you press Drive-Thru.
Myfitnesspal asked registered nutritionist Denise Hernandez for her advice in modifying the menu to help you continue to offer your health and wellness goals while enjoying the many Starbucks options to offer.
Often, when we order coffee in a cafe or chain, we do not always focus on the exact food details of our favorite drinks. « It is important that consumers are aware of the ingredients in their favorite coffee drinks, » says Hernandez. « The calories, the amounts of fat and sugar can be added with the various syrups and flavors that we add to these drinks. »
As you are considering which new drink to try, Hernandez advises you to keep in mind these general tips next time you order:
These seasonal drinks are only available for a limited turn, so enjoy them! But if you drink them more often than not, find your choice of drink below and think about Hernandez modifications, they will all reduce the total amount of calories, sugar and fat in your drink!
For Grande size, drink 250 calories, 12 g of fat, 31 g of carbohydrates, 31 g of sugar and 3 g protein.
« Ask for 2 sugar -free vanilla syrup pumps and light pumpkin cream, » Hernandez suggests. This swap can reduce the fat in half and remove the calories to approximately 130. With this change, the carbohydrates will also be more low – about 25.5 grams.

How sugar affects your body>
For Grande size, drink 390 calories, 14 g of fat, 52 g of carbohydrates, 50 g sugar and 14 g protein.
Hernandez’s advice? Ask for only 2 pumpkin spices pumps of sauce, non -combined milk and without whipped cream. This changes the picture of the diet to 211 calories and 36.6 g of carbohydrates while keeping 9.4 g of protein.

For Grande size, drink 370 calories, 16 g of fat, 47 g of carbohydrates, 45 g of sugar and 11 g of protein.
If this is your drink, Hernandez’s tips are simple: « Switch the Grande size for the high size. » This will remove the calories by 201 and carbohydrates to 35.6.

For this drink 120 calories, 3.5 g of fat, 22 g of carbohydrates, 13 g of sugar and 1 g of protein.
Cortado fans, you’re lucky. If this is your favorite, Hernandez has no notes. Enjoy what it is!
