German coach Julian Nagelsman recalled Alexander Pavlovic of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund’s duo Nico Schlotterbeck and Felix Nemecha for his last round of World Cup qualifications.
These trio are among five players who recalled the team while Germany looks to take control of its qualification group in games with Luxembourg and Northern Ireland, with Schlotterbeck recovering from a meniscus injury.
The return of Schlotterbeck is key to central backdrop Antonio Rudiger out with muscle injury.
Ridle Baku from RB Leipzig also returns to the team, as well as Jonathan Burkard of Eintracht Frankfurt, whose teammate Nathaniel Brown received his first call.
Still, there is no room for former Bayern Sane star, whose move in Galatasaray clearly prevents his hopes from participating in the World Cup. Sane was left out of the team in September after moving to what Nagelsmann described as the Lower League, and the bad beginning of life in Istanbul did not help his cause.
Germany is second in the UEFA Group A, launching their campaign with a humiliating loss in Slovakia, the first qualified defeat in the history of Die Mannschaft.
They followed this with An unconvincing 3-1 victory over Northern IrelandAnd Naglesman is adamant that Germany cannot afford more slip.
« We have a clear goal – two wins from two to get back on our way to our World Cup qualification campaign, » Naglesman said.
« Although some players are not able to join us for this international vacation, we are absolutely convinced that the team has enough quality to do better than last time.
« After losing Tony Rudiger, it is so important that Nico Schlotterbeck has returned to us. In Nene Brown we will have a real talent at our disposal in the defense department.
« I look forward to entering the soldered stadium in Sinhaim (against Luxembourg), a place that has a special place in my heart, and I am excited for an electric atmosphere and a great game when we travel to Belfast, taking many Germany fans with us. »
Striker Nick Waltimade is back on the team after making a strong start to life in Newcastle United after the 69 million pounds from Stuttgart.
Woltemade, who came in for criticism after the defeat in Slovakia, has three goals in six games for Newcastle, his last to come to the Champions League win 4-0 over Union St. Gilloise on Wednesday.
Speaking on Tuesday, Nagelsmann told Sport1 from Woltemade: « Okay. Of course, he scored two titles, which was also good and important to him.
« I think it is important to make a good impression when you have such a price. The goals are just the most striking and valuable thing.
« I think he did quite well; I was watching yesterday’s game (against Arsenal). He still has a few steps to take on the team. He still has to find his perfect fit.
« He’s on the right road. With two goals he definitely made a good start. »
Niklas Fulkug of West Ham misses due to a Burcard and Maximilian Bey injury at Dortmund, the other two striking options in the team.
