Jamaica will meet New Caledonia for the right to face DR Congo

The draw for the World Cup play-off tournament was made today in Switzerland, with six teams vying for two places at next summer’s World Cup.

Teams come from each of the confederations except UEFA, with the two highest-ranked nations in FIFA’s world rankings – DR Congo and Iraq – receiving byes into the final. The remaining four will face off in one-legged semi-final matches to determine the final matches.

The winners of both finals reach the World Cup.

Forty-two teams have already secured spots in the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer.

Route 1

Semi-final: New Caledonia v Jamaica

The winner will play DR Congo in the final.

Path 2

Semi-final: Bolivia vs Suriname

The winner will play Iraq in the final.

All games will be played in Mexico during the international window in March.
