The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to sign defensive end Trey Hendrickson — after earlier backing out of a move for Las Vegas Raiders player Max Crosby.
The Raiders announced the Ravens had pulled out of the deal, and while no official reason was given, sources told ESPN it was due to concerns surrounding the physical examination of Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowl pass rusher.
The Baltimore Club now they’ve moved on Hendrickson, who is a free agent after leaving the Cincinnati Bengals.
ESPN says Hendrickson has agreed to a four-year, $112 million deal that could be worth up to $120 million in incentives.
The deal includes $60 million fully guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
Hendrickson was injured late last season, but the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles were also interested in signing him as a free agent.
The Ravens missed the playoffs last season after finishing 8-9 in the AFC North.
Why did the Crosby trade collapse?
Crosby had already said his goodbyes in Vegas and outlined his excitement about moving to Baltimore with a three-year, $94 million deal with the Raiders in exchange for two first-round picks.
He said Saturday: « I know there are no guarantees in this. But I’m going to give everything from my heart and soul to bring a championship to Baltimore. No need for more words on that. »
« I’m so excited. I can’t wait to get out on the town and meet everyone. »
The 28-year-old underwent knee surgery in January but his agent insisted his rehabilitation is on schedule in a statement to X.
