Watch the trailer for the Science Saru Ghost in the Shell anime series

A new trailer has given us the best glimpse yet of what’s to come The Ghost in the Armor anime. While it may not tell us much about the direction the show will go in terms of plot, it’s certainly aesthetically pleasing, with a returning art style that looks a lot more like the original manga than we’ve seen with other adaptations. The series will be released on Prime Video this July.

The Ghost in the Armor is produced by Science Saru. The studio hasn’t revealed much about its story, only noting that it’s based on Masamune Shirou’s manga, so it’s still not entirely clear how closely it will follow the source material. The franchise has certainly seen its fair share of questionable adaptations over the years. But this look at the art style looks like a promising indicator. The exact release date has not been announced yet, but July is not too far away.
