You can now apply for “Possibly Purchase” on RTX 5090 or 5080 by NVIDIA

As the graphics cards have become almost ridiculous over the years, it is actually increasingly difficult to do. In an effort to deal with this problem, Nvidia introduced a plan that calls a proven priority access for its recently released GPU GeForce RTX 50 series. A checked priority access is offered an unspecified number of people the ability to buy either the GeForce RTX 5090 or the RTX 5080 Edition Graphics Graphics Direct by the company.

This « opportunity » will only be available to US customers with an NVIDIA account, created on or before January 30 at 9:00 ET/6AM PT. Stakeholders can be sent by form next week by form and invitations.

Nvidia uses a similar approach to dealing with the shortage of it, although it was a pilot only to invite. This system can help keep more of the products away from scalpers or cryptocurrencies for the benefit of legal customers. But given how long access to GPU would be nice to see more stable answers coming from manufacturers.
