Tata Play Airtel Digital TV fusion -Tata, Bharti groups that complete the merger of Tata Play from DTH, Airtel Digital TV: Report

The Tata and Bharti groups have been reported to finish the impending merger between their direct home (DTH) companies, Tata Play and Airtel Digital TV. This merger occurs as the audience gradually moves from DTH to digital platforms.

According to the Economic Times report, the merger is through a stock trade, which increases the income of airtel’s non -mobile.

According to the report, Airtel owns more than 50 % in a combined unit. Airtel is expected to be 52-55 % of the combined unit, while Tata Play shareholders, including Walt Disney, owns 45-48 %. Airtel’s top management is expected to lead the community, while Tata is expected to keep two seats on the table, the report added.

Both parties are expected to report the terms of the contract soon. The Due Diligence begins after that. Both operations are reported to be about 6,000-7,000 rubles.

Both units had a total of 35 million subscribers from September 2024, and 2004 FY revenue exceeded SEK 7,000.

With the store, Airtel gets access to Tata Play to 19 million homes. The shop would be another major event in the DTH sector for about a decade after the Dish TV VideoCon D2H fusion was in 2016.
