Ruud van Nistelrooy

Van Niselrooy stabs the « passive » Leicester and calls on the foxes to « move on » when the fears of falling deepen

Rud Van Nistelroy was disappointed with the Lester passive display from the first half, which led to a 2-0 defeat in West Ham.

19th place foxes slipped further towards a limping display in East London, with two « easy » goals before the break that all West Ham were needed to record the victory that left them five points of safety.

Leicester’s chief in Leicester told TNT Sports: « The goals you admit are easy goals. This is a reflection of how we played in the first half.

« If you see the difference in the first and second half, how we, as a team, went forward to press the enemy, play urgently, after winning matches, we waited too much in the first half.

« We have to put the enemy under pressure the right way. »

Leicester “Too Passive”

With their rivals of the falling wolves, Ipsy and Southampton they lose this week, Leicester missed the opportunity to take advantage and their display lacks urgency.

Van Nistelroy added: « We were too passive. We are in a situation where we do not win games and are in a situation where we are in the lower three.

« The pressure is on. The way to get out of this is to move literally forward and on the pitch. This does not mean that you have to go and press in a V situation, but we have to take the initiative.

« We can’t wait and sit. This is the situation we are in. «

Leicester did not score into the league in four games, delivering 12 goals in these trips after a 2-1 win over Tottenham.

« If you play that way in the first half, you won’t get in, » said Van Nistelroy. « We weren’t even close to scoring. In the second half we were much closer. «

To how he maintains the morals in their battle to fall out, the boss of the foxes said: « By believing in work, in turning it, literally moving forward rather than sitting back. This is what we have to do. «

Potter is excited about West Ham’s potential

West Ham’s chief Graham Potter praised his country’s professional display and said he was excited about the potential his country shows.

He told TNT Sports: « The first half that we were decent in our maintenance, we brought them back, we had good control over the game. In general, it was a professional performance. It is not fantastic, but we are delighted with two wins, two clean leaves and six points. «

« We were aware of this about this season, but not that long. Delighted to players.

« They work very hard. Now they have two wins from the back, which is not easy in the Premier League. «

« There is a lot of potential for sure. Talent is one thing. The basics must be good. We hope they receive awards because the talent is not enough in this league.

« You need to keep clean sheets, protect yourself well, make the ugly side of the game well, and the players have done this and have received their awards. »
