Manager Andoni Iraola was impressed by him as they won home for the first time since January.

Evanilson had to add to Semenyo’s early strike, but the hosts had to dig and protect themselves as Fulham rammed the second half.

Iraola told Sky Sports: « I am very, very pleased with the performance. I think we need this performance, protecting my own box, cleansing, blocks, foundations, reproduction.

« We knew Fulham was very good at the ball. For the first 55-60 minutes we pressed very well, but then you would always suffer at the end. We had to admit the territory a little, go more compact and protect the box and deal with the crosses.
