Pep Guardiola admitted that Manchester City could miss the goals of the summer transfer if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League.
Currently, City are fifth in the Premier League before traveling to Everton on Saturday afternoon and are in the last four of the FA Cup.
With the remaining six games in the league, the Guardiola country has to end in the top five to secure a place in the Champions League, but also with Chelsea and Aston Villa only a point behind them, City are far from guaranteed.

After dominated the inner stage in the last few years – including four consecutive Premier League titles – City fought this season and endured a catastrophic end of 2024, where they won only once in 13 games in all competitions.
The results and performances have been harvested in the last few months, but the Guardiola team is still expected to undergo a major renovation in the summer, not least due to the confirmed departure of the midfielder Kevin de Brune.
But the city boss fears that the club can fight to land its priority signatures if they do not play in the elite competition of the European Club Football.
« It depends on the players we want and whether they just have one option, » Guardiola said.
« If they have a lot, I’m almost sure that players are looking at those in the Champions League, of course.
« Maybe the players are coming anyway and there are others who say they don’t want to go because of any Champions League. I don’t know. I didn’t talk to one player potentially for next season, so I don’t know. »
Regarding the prospect of some of the current harvests of the players who leave if the Champions League football is not reached, Guardiola added: « They have contracts. With the exception of Kevin (de Brune), everyone else has contracts.
« The club and the organization decide which is the best. The club works of course behind the scenes what they should do, but I am concerned about those six (the Premier League) and the FA Cup.
« Then, one week, 10 weekends, the fifth of June starts again with seven days before flying to the United States and preparing for the World Cup (Club). »
