Barcelona vs Celta Vigo: La Liga text updates, goals and stats

Barcelona have the chance to restore their nine-point lead at the top of La Liga when they host Celta Vigo on Wednesday

Real Madrid beat Alaves at home on Tuesday and moved on six points behind Barca but Hansi Flick’s side remain huge favorites to retain the title.

Celta are sixth and well placed to secure a place in next season’s Europa League, but will arrive in Catalonia on the back of a run of four defeats in five games in all competitions.

« We had a very heavy load of games and training, » said head coach Claudio Giraldez. “We need to get back to our best selves—the best version of each of us, mine first.

« We know we haven’t been playing well in the last few games and I can see that everyone is trying to understand why and correct the aspects of our game that are not going well.

« Barcelona have every attacking resource a football team can have, but we hurt them in the games we played against them. »
