Preview and predicted lineups as Cristiano Ronaldo on the verge of a maiden Pro League title

Cristiano Ronaldo has the chance to win his first major trophy since moving to Saudi Arabia when Al-Nasr host Al-Hilal in a critical Pro League summit tomorrow night.

Ronaldo has seen previous opportunities to win silverware in the Kingdom come and go and he only has the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup to show for three-and-a-half years at the Riyadh giants.

That will change tomorrow if Al-Nasr can get past city rivals and nearest rivals Al-Hilal.

Victory would move Ronaldo and Co eight points clear with Al-Hilal just two games in hand. If the title and local supremacy weren’t enough to add spice to this match, it also carries a personal meaning for Ronaldo.

The Portugal star was deeply unhappy with the capture of Karim Benzema from Al-Hilal in early February, accusing Al-Nasr’s owners, the Saudi Public Investment Fund, of a lack of interest and showing his displeasure by walking out for two games.

It did little to halt Al-Nasr’s progress and they looked to be heading for the title before Brendan Rodgers’ stunning 3-1 loss to Al-Qadsia earlier this month.

They bounced back with a 4-2 win at Al-Shabaab on Thursday night to keep their noses in front.

Al-Hilal’s form has been equally impressive. Unbeaten in the Pro League since April 4, 2025, when they lost to Al-Nasr, their challenge has been hampered by too many draws, although that did not stop them from winning the Copa del Rey on Friday thanks to a 2-1 defeat at Al-Kholod.

Boss Simone Inzaghi has been questioned for what some fans perceive as a defensive approach, but a squad boasting the likes of Benzema, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves and Malcolm has the quality to shatter Ronaldo’s dreams.

Al-Nasser vs Al-Hilal team news

Al-Nassr are hoping Kingsley Coman can be cleared fit, while Angelo is also a doubt. Mubarak Al-Buainain, Raghed Najjar and Sami Al-Najei are long-term absentees.

Theo Hernandez has been rated fit for Al-Hilal but Kalidou Koulibaly is almost certain to miss out.
